Only bugspray i'll ever use
i have what you would call "sweet blood" so living in florida i need serious mosquito repellent. we all know the dangers of deet and i found picaridin in my search for alternatives to it. Picaridin is a synthetic compound created to mimic piperidine, a natural compound found in pepper plants. Not only does it repel mosquitoes and no see ums, it also repels biting flies, gnats, chiggers, and fleas. It has been available in the EU since the 90s and is considered safe.Other picaridin products are usually lotions, so when I found Off had a spray version of picaridin i had to try it. this works VERY well. even when i am at the lake at a wooded area, i will end the day with maximum 1-2 bites when i would normally get dozens.there's only a subtle smell and its not bad, its not greasy, it's overall exactly what you would want in an insect repellent. compared to other similar options it's very cost effective as well.

Lightweight feeling and easy to apply
I am one of the unlucky ones that the mosquitos target. I'm always the only one to get bit in a group of people. In AZ, the monsoon summer weather brings out the mosquitos but I love being out on the patio on warm nights...which is prime feeding time for the pesky mosquitos. i've used deet lotions, but those always feel greasy, heavy and a pain to apply. The spray application is easy, non greasy and the light scent is short-lived. I think this is a great alternative to the heavily scented lotions or other sprays.

Smooth skin without the grease
I work outdoors and am frequently bitten by mosquitos. I’d spray myself daily, but most bug sprays make me feeling greasy and gross. I found this and it works great without making my legs shiny. Thank you!

There is an oily residue.
Works really well. There is a slight smell and 100% a slight oily residue left behind. It feels kind of like sunscreen that has an oil in it. There is also an added shine to my skin, which does make me nervous for early mornings when I use this before applying sunscreen. Still worth the never-ending battle against horse flies.

Must have
Have tried everything & Picaridin is best. Not sticky nor bad smell & so far works to repel not just mosquitoes but also biting flies and seems to last all day meaning 8+ hr hikes. Love aerosol mist application but note that canister won't empty completely so not getting full use.

works as well as deet
works as well as regular OFF spray with Deet but doesn't leave your skin feeling oily or tacky. I did have to fully saturate every inch of my skin with a THICK coat, I even sprayed my clothing and sprayed up my shorts a few inches. if you missed a spot the mosquitos will find it. It claims 8 hour protection but I feel like its more 4-6 hours especially when sweating. I used a full bottle daily for 2 folks. gets a bit pricy but keeping the mosquitos and ticks away is crucial!

🌴 Florida Has 90 Types of Mosquitoes. This Spray Fought 87 of Them. 🦟
As a lifelong Floridian, I’ve accepted that I basically live inside a mosquito buffet. Hot, humid, muggy summers? Check. Swampy air that feels like soup? Double check. So when I say I’ve tried everything to keep the 90+ species of flying vampires off me, I mean it—I’ve practically bathed in citronella at this point.Enter this magical little bottle of mosquito-repelling hope.I spritzed it on before heading out to water the garden, expecting the usual outcome: mild protection, strong odor, and sticky skin. But to my surprise—no greasy film. No weird chemical cloud. Instead, it left a soft, almost floral-powder scent. It says no fragrance, but my nose says, “Hey, this smells like grandma’s perfume—but in a good, gentle way.” And it faded quickly, which I appreciated. No bug spray stank lingering while I’m trying to live my main-character gardening life. The mosquitoes backed off. Like, noticeably. For the first 30–45 minutes, I felt like I had my own invisible security detail. I was doing chores. I was walking around. I was thriving. But then... I went inside to cool off, came back out, and bam—mosquito rave on my legs. No water, no sweat—just a short indoor break and it was like I had never sprayed anything at all. So while it says 8 hours, I’d say more like a solid 45 minutes to an hour before it clocks out for lunch. Also? The bottle says 5 oz, but I barely got 10–15 uses before it tapped out. For the price, I expected a little more longevity. My usual go-to (Cutter) lasts me double that amount with over half still left.Final thoughts:🌟 5 stars for effectiveness during active use💧 No greasy feel (praise be)🌸 Light scent that doesn’t overstay its welcome⌛ Docked stars for shorter-than-promised duration and quick empty bottleFinal Verdict:If you’re in Florida and just want something that actually works without turning you into a walking oil slick, this is a solid pick. It won’t last forever, and you’ll need to reapply like it’s sunscreen at the beach—but for those peaceful mosquito-free minutes? Totally worth it.
