Excellent results and safe for sterlet
Excellent and safe. I have various carp, koi and sterlet. It is expensive initially but has proven to be safe and effective in my own pond so I have always returned to this product when I have a problem with weed. I had tried others over the years but they were not effective. I have had to use this product a few times in the past few years when I get a bloom of green weed growing on the underwater surfaces. The stringy and blanket weed causes havoc with the pumps. It sorted out my string algae and blanket weed bloom in a matter of weeks, all gone. I literally had buckets full of the stuff I was pulling out every few days before I treated it and it grows so quickly as my pond water gets warm (25 deg C in the summer!) and is in full sun. Was an ongoing battle. The product made the water slightly murky for a few hours after first going in but the water soon cleared. It says not for natural ponds but my pond system pumps water from a heavily stocked koi pond up through filters and then back into a large fish free natural style pond before returning over a double water fall back into the koi pond so I have always had to treat the whole system including the ‘natural’ pond. Absolutely no problem to the tadpoles or insect larvae in the natural style pond, the lilies and plants and fish showed no signs of distress or harm even though I’ve got some delicate species (big sterlets). To help the system recover I removed all excess weed by hand where I could get to it but have also had to clean the filters and pumps several times during treatment as they got dirty very quickly with the fragments of dead weed. As the weed decays it uses up oxygen from the water so keep an eye on oxygen levels, especially for fish species like sterlet that are really sensitive to oxygen drops. This year having got rid of the bloom I am going to follow the maintenance programme with the product to see if I can prevent it returning. **Update on the maintenance programme. I’ve followed this to the letter for a few months and no regrowth! Really pleased. Water crystal clear and chemistry spot on. Fish really healthy. Tadpoles became froglets and hopped off, just as many insect larvae and hatching mayfly, dragonfly etc as before in the natural side of the pond so it’s clearly not causing harm to the system. I will continue with the maintenance programme as its only a few scoops twice a month. Very little effort or financial cost for the reward of a blanket weed free pond!

It Works
I've got two ponds (they were here when I moved in), one small, one very large. The small one always has blanket weed which I've treated with various products, the large one never- until this year when it started to appear. Without much optimism, I purchased this product, and my weed disappeared from the large pond within 24 hours and hasn't come back. Even the small pond has responded- it's a much more entrenched problem so will take a few treatments but so far I'm very impressed. The only downside is the cost.

The best pond blanket weed treatment I have found.
The best pond blanket weed treatment I have found. For some crazy reason, TWO years in a row, it has also 99% eliminated my duck weed, even though this side effect is not listed at all that I have seen. Its not a herbicide (very UNharmful), so I can only assume that it has created an environmental "climate" in my pond that is just not suitable for duck week. But as a blanket weed remover as well........it works flawlessly. I top up one single spoon every week, as a top up dose, which is not a lot....and I just keep ticking by the weeks using it in this way, after an initial "heavier" first-dose. Brilliant!

this stuff works
i had a serious blanketweed problem. Did as instructed , removed as much as possible first using a blanketweed brush then treated as instructed. Cleared within days . Filter didn't half need cleaning a lot to start with!!Then continued to top up every two weeks as instructed , clearing any residual clumps from time to time. No return of blanketweed since. Remember to switch off UV for a couple of days . Pumps and filters operate as normal.I've tried other products , some of which turn the water white , but this product is easy to use and most importantly , consistently effective.

Works really well
Not a cheap product but I have used several and been disappointed. Used it last year when the large pond was full of blanket weed - cleared the lot and kept it free of it all summer so really pleased and have re- stocked for this year so I don’t start off in the same position. I did put some in my smaller pond last year and one of the small orfe died shortly after - no idea if it was connected and not put anymore in that pond since but one to bear in mind.

By far the best blanket weed treatment!!
This is definitely the best blanket weed treatment I have ever used. We have an ornamental stream between two ponds and it is always getting covered in blanket weed, and over the years I have tried numerous different treatments. This one is by far the best, and is the only one I have found to actually kill of the blanket weed in a few days, but also to keep it away. I will always be using this treatment from now on and can’t recommend it enough.

The best I have used.....
To date this is an excellent product. It cleared the blanket weed within a few weeks and following the instructions the water is crystal clear with the added bonus that it appears to have an impact on duckweed which is very difficult to clear. Since using the product the duckweed has shrunk to the point it is just a mild covering here and there and I would imagine strong rainfall will sink what remains to the bottom. Excellent product.

Easy and effective
I've used this brand in the past and can vouch for how quickly and effectively it rids ponds of blanket weed, if you follow the label directions. Very easy to mix and apply. Does not hurt pond plants or fish.
