Great Product!
Selected this seat early in the planning phase of my bathroom remodel and studied the installation instructions first. This is a must, as you need to install extra supports in the wall. Installed the seat after tile and grout was done. It was a bit tedious, but I took my time and the result is perfect. I would reiterate that you need to plan ahead of time and follow the installation instructions EXACTLY! I had a question that was completely answered by their customer service. Love that the seat folds out of the way when not in use. I only wish that it was offered with a brushed nickel finish rather than chrome, to match the rest of my bathroom. Looks fine, though. Seat seems plenty sturdy, which is a function of proper support.

So Pretty!!
Installed this in our upstairs jack and jill shower. We converted the existing tub space into a walk in shower. This bench fits the space beautifully. It flips up and down easily and was simple to install. We had removed the walls down to the studs during our DIY remodel. Make sure you carefully measure from the final floor surface to seat top surface for proper height. Take into consideration that the seat top sits three to four inches higher than the top supports. It's a huge ad to the overall feel of the shower. Gives a spa feel to it! Wish I could add a photo.10/21/2021 Still looking good. Small amount of finish loss on one slat but 5 kids have been abusing it! Has held up incredibly well!

Solid and Attractive
I got this seat to replace an aging free standing seat that was starting to look pretty ratty. The new one is attractive and solid and gives me some needed extra inches in a small shower stall. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is the (almost non-existant) instructions. I don't bend as easily as I used to and holding it in place while drilling was difficult for me. A drill hole template would have cut the installation time by 75%.

Very sturdy
We had this installed when we re-did our shower. Fits our needs perfectly, easy to fold down (for me) and up for hubby. The seat is comfortable to use and feels very secure.

Good size, good mechanism, but wood is not teak and mine has rough edges.
Update: Just got my replacement (fast). The wood is better - the edges are smooth. However the wood is completely *unfinished*. The first shipment had wood that had rough edges but was finished with something like a polyurethane; the second item is complete unfinished. Dilemma: do I finish the second item myself, ask for a third item, or keep the first one and replace the wood later. My contractor wants to complete my bathroom in a couple of days and I have very little time to finish it myself at this state. Overall I still like the seat and its mechanism.- review of the first item i received:I just received the item today (Jan 2016). The wood is not teak (I know my woods). Also the edges are rough and in one place it is splintered. (I have sent for a replacement)While the folding mechanism is all metal with chrome finish, the bottom rectangular mechanism that has 4 mounting screws is plastic; the plastic seems strong. (Note if you look at the picture carefully you will notice that you can see the metal bar through that bottom mechanism and hence the bottom piece is plastic.BTW it comes with a nice mounting template of where to drill the holes.(BTW Note the manual shows two version; the other version has molded see-through plastic seat. Since the wood is not teak I might have preferred that and added real teak myself.)Pros:1) nice size - the other seat from Moen sold at amazon is real teak but the size is very big for small areas.2) nice folding mechanism made of chrome except bottom piece which is plastic (seems strong)3) The seat is finished wood but not teak. Wood seems replaceable - there are screws underneath.4) The screws it came with seems high quality stainless steel. Came with plugs but it is advisable to install straight into studs and not use plugs.Cons:1) Wood is okay to good. Rough on the edges in some pieces.Mine had a splinter in one are.Sent for replacement, waiting.2) Bottom piece is plastic - hopefully it lastsUnknown: Will the chrome rust or not?

Very Sturdy
I love this! I had my bathroom renovated due to water damage and decided now was a good time to take out the tub and put in a stand up shower. I live with my elderly mother who would constantly have a shower chair in the tub so I thought why not put this in the shower for her. I did not do the installation but it is very sturdy. Love that it folds up so it is not in the way when not being used. She loves it. I am very happy with this purchase!

Solid, sturdy, if installed correctly
This is a really nice shower seat. It is attractive, functional, strong and operates smoothly. The key is in the preparation for installation and the actual installation. Since we performed a demo down to the studs and subfloor, we had the opportunity to install super heavy duty blocking. We installed doubled and stacked 2 x 12's. Cement backer board was installed next, followed by the porcelain tile. Using the supplied template and careful drilling through the tile, extra long SS screws firmly anchored the seat to the wall. I would not even remotely consider using plastic wall anchors or any other types of anchors. For maximum strength, it must by attached to proper blocking.
