From a technical standpoint, the datAshur PRO SSD is truly amazing as it features military grade 256-bit XTS-AES encryption as well as being FIPS 140-2 IL2 certified. iStorage definitely took their time when designing this drive and it shows.ValueWell, this is where things do get a bit out of my reach. When doing research, the drive seems to be competitively priced but I personally can not give insight into the value. My opinion is that you get what you pay for and with the datAshur PRO SSD, you are getting a device that offers top-grade security and encryption, probably more than what most civilians actually need. If you really need this type of encryption and security, I am sure you are going to be willing to pay for it.I am going to give the datAshur PRO SSD our must have award as while some of it may be a bit over my head if you really need the best of the best encryption wise, this seems to be a top drive from a civilian point of view. Anything better than this may require some sort of military grade clearance.

I have had 2 of these now, bought because of the encryption. They have both failed very quickly, the latest one was purchased in July and has become unreadable in November. too risky. looking for an alternative!

Excellent option for encrypted hard drive that's operating system independent. Well built and fast, and FIPS140-2 certification to keep the auditors happy :)

Was described as being Solid state disk but wasn't - so it was returned. Am sure it is a good disk but rather expensive for what it turned out to be

this is a must have productjust so fast and smallthe product dimensions are not correct anywhere on the web, it is actually very small and lightalready friends of mine want to buy themselves onewould buy again any day

Still early days. Using this as a secure TimeMachine backup - so only using this as one partition. Works flawlessly thus far. Excellent quality and build. Feels nice in the hand too. Soft rubbery texture. Expensive yes but worth the pennies.
